CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) – A local shopping center is open this morning after a call of shots fired.

Champaign police were called to marketplace mall in the 2000 block of North Neil Street just after 9:00 Monday night.

Police say an argument broke out inside the mall, then someone fired at least one gunshot.

Everyone left the scene before officers arrived, including the victim and the alleged gunman.

The mall did re-open Tuesday morning at 6:30am.

We reached out to the owners of the mall, General Growth Property, and the local general manager redirected our questions back to Champaign Police.

The last shooting at this location was in may 2011.
