ILLINOIS (WCIA) — Illinois has been preparing for open enrollment for healthcare for some time. You can still be penalized by the IRS for not having health insurance.
From now until December 15, anyone can sign up. If you sign up by then, you’re safe for the year. The insurance you sign up for will cover you through 2018.

A client services coordinator says the majority of people qualify for financial assistance. While health insurance costs vary greatly, with the assistance, most people will pay about $80 – $100 per month.
