Sheriff’s office’s solution to lack of lockers

Local News

CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — Leaders of the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office found a solution after planning to do away with lockers in their lobby.

People used the lockers to store cellphones while in court across the street. Officials say the lockers were a safety concern.

New lockers will be installed by the pay station in the courthouse parking lot at the corner of Main and Vine between the federal and county courthouses.

They’ll only cost a quarter to use. Authorities hope to have those installed by the end of the month.
