DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — Two people were taken to the hospital after their SUV crashed. The Douglas County Sheriff says it happened right outside his home. A post on the sheriff’s office Facebook says it’s believed the driver had an overdose while driving and lost control of the vehicle.

The sheriff and his father started CPR on the driver. Police gave the person two doses of Narcan. The driver was airlifted to Carle Hospital. A passenger in the SUV was taken by ambulance.

The crash is still under investigation.
