Shelters ready for colder conditions

Local News

DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — Shelters are ready to help more people this week.

Dayspring Women’s Shelter and Danville Rescue Mission are making sure people know they have a place to stay in the cold.

The shelters don’t get money from the government, but the city helps them get supplies of food and clothing year-round.

“The fire department had beds and gave us like 50 new beds so we have the beds to go on top of what we’ve already got so we’ll be able to handle it,” says Pastor Danny Offett.

The shelter says while they’re prepared to take in more people.

They could always use food and cash.
