TUSCOLA, Ill. (WCIA) — A popular outlet mall is shrinking, with several stores closing in a matter of weeks. By the end of the month, the Outlets at Tuscola will have four less stores.
Vitamin World, J Crew and Corningware, Corelle & More are all closing their doors. Meanwhile, OshKosh B’Gosh is moving to the Marketplace Mall in Champaign.
Shoppers say they’re disappointed by the news for more reasons than one.
“It’s hurting the economy because all of the people that work here are losing their jobs,” said shopper Gayla Taylor.
Meanwhile, employees at Vitamin World and Corningware, Corelle & More say they don’t know exactly why the stores are closing. They’re just following orders. Employees at J Crew say it’s a strategic move by the company to close stores so they can focus on it’s online operations.
But if you’re like Sherry Baker, online shopping isn’t for you.
“I like to see things better than getting them and having to return them,” she said.
Corningware, Corelle & More closes Sunday. Vitamin World closes Tuesday. J Crew and OshKosh B’Gosh close January 27.
