Session extended at capitol

Local News

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — Lawmakers are extending session instead of ending at midnight on Friday. They said they’ll try to finish some budget items over the weekend. That gives them two more days to work through it.

Lawmakers are due back on Saturday and Sunday to work on isses like sports gambling, the capital plan and the entire budget, which was made public early Friday afternoon.

One bill that may not make the deadline is the FOID bill. It’s in the Senate, but the sponosr is waiting on one more senator to confirm she has the votes for it to pass.
