School raising money to update playground

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — Robeson Elementary School is raising money for a new playground.

Staff say the current equipment is more than 35-years old. It’s broken, unsafe, outdated and doesn’t function properly. They say it’s also not ADA-compliant and the new equipment will be.

The goal is to raise $100,000 for the project. So far, they have about $20,000. Earluier Thursday, they held a Walk-a-thon.
