MATTOON, Ill. (WCIA)–  A school for those with special needs has moved into a new building.

Eastern Illinois Area Special Education is now on Landlake Boulevard.

This building is just for students ages 18 to 21.

The life academy made the move in August when it merged with the Neil Armstrong Center.

This new building gives them the ability to focus on life skills and teach students some social skills and skills to live independently.

Principle Jenny Weber says that they are teaching their students how to do laundry, cleaning habits and skills related to holding a job.
