DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) — Kids at South Shores Elementary have a new place to cool off during recess.
The school got an Adopt-a-Shade program grant. A program was held to christen the new addition to the playground.
A local doctor gave a donation to the American Academy of Dermatology to help pay for the covering. They say it will help protect students’ skin from damaging rays from the sun.
Eldon Conn, the principal, says they plan to put it to good use. The covering cost about $7,000.
