ILLINOIS (WCIA) — U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth is helping high school students get into military academies.
High school students that wish to attend places like West Point and the Air Force Academy can fill out application to get a congressional nomination. Service academies allow students to serve their country while receiving a full four-year scholarship.
In order to be considered, a student must get a formal nomination from their member of Congress, Senator, or the Vice President. You must be a U.S. citizen between 17 and 23 years old to receive appointment from one of the four service academies. Applications are due September 27.
