Quick arrest made in armed bank robbery

DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) — Police made a quick arrest after an armed robbery. It happened just after 8 am, Tuesday, at 1st Mid-Illinois Bank and Trust, in the 3100-block of North Water Street.

A man entered the business and demanded money. He ran away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Authorities quickly identified and located him at a nearby motel. 55-year old James Carr, of Oklahoma, faces charges of armed robbery.

Police and the FBI obtained a search warrant and located evidence of the crime. It was not specified which type of weapon was allegedly used in the crime. No one was hurt.
