FORD COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — The area’s public health department got its hands on a limited vaccine.
Shingrix is for people 55-years and older to prevent shingles and other viruses.
Shingrix is given in two doses over the court of two-to-six months. Public health officials say it’s especially important to get the vaccine if you’ve ever had chicken pox.
Ford County Public Health is charging $160 per dose, but it will work with you to determine if your insurance covers the cost.
