SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — The Progressive Caucus made it’s first announcement of what bills they are supporting and opposing this session.
Urbana representative Carol Ammons is a co-chair of the caucus. Their main goal is to advance legislation they believe will help everybody in the state. This includes legislation concerning health care for all and criminal justice reform.
At their first news conference they endorsed a total of ten bills, but opposed one bill they feel limits the right to protest in the state.
The caucus is made up of representatives from around the state. Since last summer it has grown to 18 members from the House.
