Presence donors may think twice about giving

Local News

URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) — Donors are still concerned about where millions of dollars in donations have gone.

Presence Covenant Medical Center in Urbana and Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville will be part of the OSF Healthcare System next month.

Despite repeated requests to the corporate office, the board chairs say they haven’t figured out where $12 to $13 million in donations have gone.

One donor was surprised by all of this. It’s a situation that’s making donors think twice.

“Part of the reason the community has been contributing is because they trust the hospital and they feel good about donating to it and if the money disappears they may not feel so good about donating in the future to what could be very good causes for the health of the community,” says Abraham Kocheril, M.D.

We reached out to Presence Health Corporate, they emailed us Thursday saying “Presence Health has nothing to add at this time. If there is additional information, we will be in touch.”
