Police seek leads in shooting investigation

CHAMPAIGN — Police are asking for help in their investigation of a shooting. It happened about 8:40 pm, Friday, March 28, near Third and Washington.

While searching the scene, authorities were notified a victim with a gunshot wound walked into the hospital and received treatment. He was later released.

The suspect in the shooting is described as a man, black, dark-skinned, 18 – 20-years old, 6′, with a skinny build. He was seen wearing a red hoodie and black pants.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers. Tipsters are always 100% completely anonymous.

All tips submitted to Crime Stoppers are electronically stripped of any personally identifying information and processed by a third-party answering service, not law enforcement.

Cash rewards of up to $1,000 are paid for information leading to an arrest. Tipsters will never be asked their name and are given a secret code number to use when checking on a possible reward.
