Police on campus

Local News

DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA)– Richland Community College is improving safety for students. Last year the school got approval to put sworn police officers on campus. Since then they’ve hired 2 officers, bought a squad car, and new equipment. Before the change Richland only had security officers.

The chief of public safety hopes these changes will help the campus. Richland is also looking to add a part-time police officer.
