Police need to know woman’s identity

CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — Authorities are investigating a case of credit card fraud and theft of lost/mislaid property.

About 7 pm, Wednesday, February 13, a wallet was stolen from someone at Walgreens, in the 400-block of East Green. The victim’s debit card was later used that night and the next day at various area businesses.

The suspect was caught on surveillance cameras. She’s described as being in her mid-20s, with long black hair in braids and large eyes. She was wearing gray sweatpants, a white shirt and black jacket. She was also carrying a distinctive pink purse.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police who can arrange to speak privately with you. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous may also submit tips to Crime Stoppers.

Authorities remind citizens information submitted to Crime Stoppers is completely anonymous.

Calls are routed to a third-party national call center which receives your information, completes a tips information form then passes it to the appropriate law enforcement agency.

Caller ID tracking is not utilized by Crime Stoppers and conversations are not recorded.
