SHELBYVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — Police say someone passed a fake $100 bill this weekend and it wasn’t the first time.

There have been six attempts at passing off counterfeits since Christmas. Five have been successful.

The good news is police say they have a pretty good idea of who’s behind it.

They’re warning businesses to keep a close eye on transactions.

The fake bills have “For Motion Picture Use Only” printed on them.

If a clerk spots a fake bill, he or she is advised not to accept it and get information about the person trying to use it, then call police.
