DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — Police are investigating two armed robberies that are not connected–but they have made arrests in one of them.
Both happened on Bowman Avenue. The first was at the Dollar General Friday night. An employee told police a man came in with a gun demanded money. No one was hurt.
The other happened Monday morning at the Circle K near Bart Street. A worker says teenagers came in–showed a gun and demanded money. They also took tobacco products and got away in a silver minivan. Police later found it and tried to pull it over.
After a short chase, the suspects crashed into a tree–got out and ran. Police were able to catch and arrest them. A gun and other evidence from the scene was found inside the minivan–which was also reported stolen. Two of the suspects are 14-years-old and the third is 16.
