BISMARCK, Ill. (WCIA) — A pilot was hurt in a plane crash Friday night.
It happened southeast of Bismarck, in a field near county roads 2550 North and 2000 East.
The only person inside was the pilot. No word on his name or condition, but he was airlifted to the hospital. No one else was hurt.
The FAA is investigating. Officials were already at the Vermilion Regional Airport nearby attending the Balloons Over Vermilion event. The hot air balloon landings weren’t impacted by the crash.
The National Transportation Safety Board is also aware of the situation.
