Pilot program could give hope to veterans

Local News

NATIONAL (WCIA) —  Veteran Affairs reports an average of twenty veteran suicides each day.

Congressional lawmakers are desperate to find solutions to help save lives.

A bipartisan group is pitching a two-year pilot program that would allow more than a hundred veterans nationwide to gain access to drug free treatment options.

If this proposal gets approval the V-A must research the outcomes at each non-profit providing services.

Supporters say once results are published they hope to have enough evidence to make funding permanent.
