MAHOMET, Ill. (WCIA) — Pelicans popped up on Spring Lake in Mahomet.
Neighbors say they’ve seen several of them the last several days. They say it’s a site they haven’t seen before and they’re happy they’re visiting.
Greg Bauman lives out there and says, “We’ve seen eight now we started off with 2 but I think they went and got some friends now and they’re partying they like this area.”
Pelicans migrate in spring from the Gulf of Mexico to Canada with stops in Central Illinois.
