DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA)– Future drivers might have more to learn before they sit behind the wheel.
A bill that cleared the Senate last week would make drivers education courses teach bicycle and pedestrian safety.
Some of the curriculum would focus on how to pass someone on a bicycle and the right way to drive through an intersection with pedestrians and ciclyst.
Some students at Millikin University say this needs to become law. The bill asks for these changes to take place starting 2020-2021 school year.
The House is set to consider the plan when it returns to action after Spring Break.
