Passport application program pulled at courthouse

Local News

MONTICELLO, Ill. (WCIA) — The Piatt County Courthouse will no longer be able to process passport applications.

The State Department’s Chicago Agency told them last month they were pulling the program. That will take effect next week.

The Circuit Clerk’s office says they will lose a lot of money. Each passport application costs $35 without any fees required by the county.

Applicants will be sent to bigger cities to apply for a passport.
