Our Town Tuscola: Pizza shop becomes downtown staple

Local News

TUSCOLA, Ill. (WCIA) — A restaurant took over part of downtown late last year, and owners say they’re not going anywhere.

Joe’s Pizza set up shop in October of 2017. Tony Vitale was running a restaurant in Paris, and wanted to start his own business.

He’s from the Joe’s Pizza family. There are locations in Paris and Shelbyville.

He planned on going to Indianapolis, Nashville or Orlando, Florida. Then his wife suggested they take a drive through Tuscola. They fell in love with the town, talked with officials and haven’t looked back.

They say business is better than they expected and they plan to stick around.
