CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — A man is dead after a shooting Thursday night.
53-year old Gus Edwards was shot near the intersection of Beardsley Avenue and North Elm Street just after 8 pm. He died about an hour later.
Neighbors say incidents like these are why they want more of a police presence in the area.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers. Tipsters are always 100% completely anonymous.

Police found a 53-year-old man wounded. He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police are investigating.

Witnesses say they saw one body on the ground. No word on the extent on the person’s injuries.
