URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) — The sale of the Champaign County nursing home is moving forward.
The state review board approved a “certificate of need,” which allows ownership to pass from the county to the buyer.
Officials with Champaign County Health Care Consumers say they’re disappointed, pointing to documents that say the companies that would own the nursing home are not those that were approved by the board in May. The board chair didn’t give comment on that but says he’s pleased to see the sale moving forward.
Next, the new owners will need to apply through the Department of Public Health for permission to operate the nursing home.
