SAVOY, Ill. (WCIA) — An area family is getting a new home thanks to Habitat for Humanity.
This is a unique build for the group because the daughter moving in is in a wheelchair. It means the home had to have some special accommodations.
The doorways are wider, there’s a special lift in the shower for her to use and, unlike the old home, this is just one floor, so the parents won’t have to worry about moving up and down stairs to get around.
Habitat says they were happy to make this home a reality. The family could move in sometime next month.
