New bus stop following post office letter

Local News

ALLERTON, Ill. (WCIA) — After a letter was sent to a village, some students will have to go a little further to catch a bus.

The post office said it was considering closing its 24 hour lobby and only opening for four hours in the afternoon because of the issues they were having from kids at this stop.

It was sent out last week from the postmaster. The letter says there was littering, spitting and dirt was tracked in because of bad weather over the years.
It also says backpacks had been left in the lobby.

The lobby wasn’t closed when our crews were there. Part of that is because the bus stop was moved by the school district.

The bus stop has been moved to to the Park Pavilion.

While people can still get their mail when they get off work, parents have a little more work to do when they send their kids to school.
