CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — Neighbors are concerned about a new city proposal.
City council members are considering allowing bigger apartment buildings in the “old town” area. The section consists of older, mainly single-family homes.
A group living there says they’re fine with the overall zoning proposal, but they want the size of any new apartment buildings to be scaled back.
Those who live in the area can sign a petition headed to the city. The council will discuss the proposal at next week’s meeting.
