DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) — One mother is trying to make a difference after the unexpected death of her son.
Kyle Stone was 32 when he died in his sleep from an undiagnosed heart condition.
Now, his mother Rita Colee is advocating for heart screenings for young athletes through what she calls the Greater Decatur Community Cardiac Initiative.
There will be a panel discussion Tuesday night about the initiative and how important it is for young athletes. It’s at 6:30 pm, in Millikin’s University Commons.
