MILLIKIN UNIVERSITY (WCIA) — The community was invited to watch an eclipse at the school.

The University opened its observatory to invite to public watch a total lunar eclipse Sunday night. The eclipse was expected to be visible from about 10:40-11:40 p.m. Students say it is something that is special to witness. “It’s just one of those cool things, cool astronomical events that we can see with our own eyes without telescopes, not necessarily need to have an observatory,” said Justin Craig, a Millikin student. This is the last total lunar eclipse visible to the area until 2021.
