Mobile health unit approved for schools

Local News

DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA)– Students won’t have to leave school when they need to see a doctor. Last night the school board approved a mobile health unit. They’re working with health professionals from Crossing Healthcare. It will offer services to all Decatur schools on different days of the week. Students will be able to get physicals, immunizations and rechecks for medications.

The services will be based on insurance but no one will be turned away. They’re hoping to have it up and running before next school year.
