MONTICELLO, Ill. (WCIA) — Money spent at Willow Tree Missions helps people who are victims of domestic violence. It has a resale shop.
People donate items and others come in and buy. However, they say business gets tough during the summer. They’ve been in their current building for years without an air conditioner. This summer has been particularly rough.
The director of operations for Willow Tree Missions says there have been days they’ve had to stop taking donations or close the shop early. Now, they’re raising money to buy an air conditioner.
In the meantime, the volunteers who work there say the temperatures won’t stop them. They want to keep helping the women who benefit from their service. They are about $5,000 short of their goal.
