Mile at the Pines

URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) — Runners are taking over a mile of streets in the city. The 2nd running of the Mile at the Pines happens Sunday evening. Nine separate mile-long races will run on Philo Road in between Curtis and Windsor. Philo and the Curtis-Philo intersection will be closed to traffic from 5PM until 8PM Sunday.

Races include:

  • 6:00 p.m.: 17 & under female mile. Start line is at Philo and Curtis Rd.
  • 6:10 p.m.: 17 & under male mile. Start line is at Philo and Curtis Rd.
  • 6:20 p.m.: Non-competitive community mile wave. Start line is at Philo and Curtis Rd.
  • 6:40 p.m.: Open female (age 18 to 39) mile. Start line is at Philo and Curtis Rd.
  • 6:50 p.m.: Open male (age 18 to 39) mile. Start line is at Philo and Curtis Rd.
  • 7:00 p.m.: Masters female (40 and over) mile. Start line is at Philo and Curtis Rd.
  • 7:10 p.m.: Masters male (40 and over) mile. Start line is at Philo and Curtis Rd.
  • 7:20 p.m.: Elite female wave. Start line is at Philo and Curtis Rd.
  • 7:30 p.m.: Elite Male wave. Start line is at Philo and Curtis Rd.

If you want to run, walk-up registration is still available for $25 during packet pick-up at Body n’ Sole sports on July 19th and 20th, from 4:00pm – 7:00pm and on Saturday, July 21, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. On Sunday, July 22, additional late registrations will be accepted between 4:30 and 5:30 only, in Suite G at The Pines shopping center, adjacent to the race staging area.
