CENTRAL ILLINOIS (WCIA) — A man appeared in court for the first time after running from police and being arrested in a different state.

Todd McGee was arrested in Fulton County, Georgia, after more than a month on the run. He was wanted in Piatt, Macon and Moultrie counties.

He appeared in Piatt County Court Thursday. He’s charged with breaking into a home in Cerro Gordo and strangling his estranged wife.

When first talking to his mom, she said he didn’t do it, but changed her mind when U.S. Marshals came to her door. She said when two narcissist go at each other, it’s sad.

McGee is charged with residential burglary and possession of a stolen vehicle in another county. He’s being held on $200,000 bond in Piatt County.
