CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — The Burnham Mansion move might have hit a roadblock.

The plan is for the Burnham Mansion to be moved one block from its current location on Church Street to allow for Central High School’s expansion.

In emails, buyer Chris Enck says there’s a problem with the financing. The bank needs more information about part of the project which is stalling the loan process. He only has until Monday to show the school district proof of purchase for the lot he’s moving the Burnham to.

He thinks someone would have to buy the land immediately or give them another spot to put the Burnham temporarily to get things done.

There is an August 10 deadline to actually move the mansion.

The school board president says, as of Friday night, they have no comment.
