SAVOY, Ill. (WCIA) — The man who crashed his car into his own home was given a ticket for driving under the influence of alcohol.

It happened on Buttercup Drive, around 8:15 am, Wednesday.

At first, the call came in as a fall. When crews were on their way to the scene, it was upgraded to a medical emergency. Then, when paramedics got there, they found the man hurt after driving his car through the garage, into a wall.

“They took the individual to the hospital to be checked out. He was disoriented and bleeding from his head, so that demands an immediate check at the emergency room,” said Savoy Fire Department PIO Eddie Bain.

After he was evaluated, it was found that his blood alcohol level was over the legal limit.
