PEKIN, Ill. (WCIA) — A man will be sentenced Wednesday after admitting that he conned an elderly victim out of nearly $100,000.
42-year-old Daryl Wright of Pekin admitted he engaged in a two-year scheme during which he took advantage of this elderly victim.
Wright convinced his victim that he needed money so that he could access his inheritance.
Wright said once he got his inheritance he would wire back more money, but he didn’t. There was not any inheritance in the first place.
The maximum charge for wire fraud is up to 20 years in prison.
