SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — A man wanted in connection with a shooting is in custody.

U.S. Marshals located Jessie Watson in the 100-block of Walnut Street, in Jacksonville, about 12:50 pm.

He’s being questioned about Monday’s shooting of a 21-year old man, believed to be the brother of a woman Watson was romantically involved with.

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — An arrest warrant has been issued for a suspected shooter.

Authorities say 22-year old Jessie Watson is wanted for aggravated battery with a firearm and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.

He’s accused of Monday’s shooting in the 2100-block of East Stuart Street. The victim is a 21-year old man whose sister Watson was allegedly in a dating relationship with.

Anyone with information regarding Watson’s whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers. You can remain anonymous and may earn a cash reward.

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — Police are investigating after a man was shot twice. Officers were called to the 2100-block of East Stuart about 7:15 pm, Monday for a reported shooting.

When they arrived, they found a 21-year old man who had been shot once in the leg and once in the arm. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The victim and witnesses identified a 22-year old Springfield man as the shooter. They say he was in a dating relationship with the victim’s sister. He ran off and has not yet been found.

Police don’t believe this is related to any other recent shootings in the area.
