CHARLESTON, Ill. (WCIA) — A Springfield man was sentenced to ten years for his role in a 2016 armed robbery.

Willie Simpson pleaded guilty to aggravated discharge of a firearm. This comes after a man and his dog were shot during a home invasion in Mattoon. Both recovered after the attack.

Simpson’s conviction comes two years after Audrey Ross pleaded guilty to the robbery. She is serving 12 years.
