Man dead after house fire, identified

DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — Vermilion County Coroner Jane McFadden has released the name of the name who died after a house fire that happened on Saturday, December 21.

James Swank, 25, of Tilton, was in the house located at 105 East 4th Street.

According to McFadden, Swank died from smoke inhalation and was pronounced at the scene. 

The Tilton Fire Department, Illinois State Fire Marshall’s Office and the Vermilion County Coroner’s Office are still investigating.

TILTON, Ill. (WCIA) — A man died after a fire Saturday night in Vermilion County.

It happened around 10:00 Saturday night, at a home on West Fourth Street in Tilton.

The Tilton fire chief told us no one else was hurt.

The cause of the fire, as well as further details, are still under investigation.
