UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS (WCIA) — A Rantoul man faces weapons charges.
28-year old Zamarlon Parker was arrested about 10 am, Wednesday, December 12, at an apartment in the 2200-block of Dale Drive, Champaign.
Police were serving an unrelated search warrant to a resident at the apartment when Parker reportedly threw a firearm from a second-story window in an attempt to hide it from officers.
Officials say he initially lied to police about possessing the firearm before admitting it was his. He’s accused of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and obstructing justice.
