URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) — One man is in custody after a call for shots fired led to a police chase.

31-year-old Robert Moore was arrested Thursday night for aggravated discharge of a firearm and aggravated fleeing of police. This started around 5 p.m. on Sunset Drive in Urbana between North Lincoln and North Coler Avenue.

Police blocked off part of the area to investigate the shots fired call. That is when they identified Moore as a suspect. Later around 8 p.m., officers were near a home in Urbana where Moore’s car was spotted. When the car left the home, they tried to do a traffic stop but Moore sped away.

Police chased him on I-74 to the St. Joe exit and then back to Urbana. At times, Moore was going more than 100 miles per hour on the interstate. He finally pulled over near the intersection of Church and Goodwin in Urbana where police arrested him.

Officers say Moore was arrested without incident. No one was hurt. Moore is scheduled to be in court later Friday. There was another person in the car with Moore, but they were released with no charges.
