Local nurse competes at Ironman world championships

KONA, Hawaii (WCIA) — A central Illinois woman competed Saturday at the Ironman World Championships. Danville native Taylor Ellis qualified last year. 

Ironman competitors swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles and run a marathon. In Kona, Ellis did it in 11:57:39. Daniela Ryf from Switzerland finished first, coming in at 8:26:16.
