DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA)– Mounds of snow had to be pushed, scraped and blown away, but there were challenges. “The weather gets warmer, the snow gets a little damper and heavier,” said Bret Stanley of Blue Mound.
Some had a bigger load than others. Roger Rager is the owner of Steve’s Lawn and Garden. They’re a family owned snow plowing business that’s been around for decades. “We haven’t had a snow like this in the last 8 years, 8 to 10 years. “We really didn’t realize it was going to be as slick underneath because our roads were dry up until it started snowing,” said Rager.
Work can be even harder when people aren’t paying attention. The Ragers urge the community to be alert when they’re pushing through. It allows them to clear the road for drivers so everyone can make it home safely.
