Leads needed in man’s shooting death

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — Police are asking for leads from the public in a recent homicide investigation.

About 1:30 am, Sunday, October 14, 35-year old Arnold Hopkins was shot dead in a home in the 2600-block of Lawndale Drive.

Police are asking anyone who may have been in the area to contact them. A passerby may unknowingly have information relevant to the investigation. They’re also seeking surveillance video from homeowners in the area.  

Anyone with information is asked to contact police who can arrange to speak privately with you. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous may also submit tips to Crime Stoppers.

Calls are routed to a third-party national call center which receives your information, completes a tips information form then passes it to the appropriate law enforcement agency. Caller ID tracking is not utilized by Crime Stoppers and conversations are not recorded.
