Leads needed in battery of senior citizen

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — Authorities want information regarding a home invasion and aggravated battery. It happened at midnight, Saturday, in the 2500-block of South 4th.

An elderly woman answered a knock at the door. A woman said she needed help when two men appeared and forced their way in.

One man stayed with the victim, battering her while the other man and woman searched the home and stole property. Both men had masks on; one wore a red jacket. All three fled in a white minivan.

No word on the victim’s condition.
