Krannert welcomes assisted listening system

Local News

UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS (WCIA) — The Krannert Center for the Performing Arts installed an assisted listening system in all four of its venues.

A person can simply pick up the device from the front desk, pick the frequency and can hear the show more clearly.

There’s a microphone picking up on the sound of show which transfers to the device.

It’s something Krannert has been working on for three and half years.

They wanted to find a way to involve more people from the community that was also efficient.

State funding and donor money has helped get the system. Krannert is still looking for more money to finish the project.
